Reduce proofing delays by preparing color, fonts, dielines and finishing layers correctly.

Separate structure from artwork
Use the approved dieline as a locked structural layer and keep graphics on separate layers. Do not resize the dieline during artwork adaptation, and keep glue areas, folds and bleed requirements visible.
Define color expectations
Identify process colors, spot colors and physical references. Screen appearance is not a production standard, so important brand colors should be confirmed through an agreed proofing method.
Make finishes unambiguous
Foil, embossing, varnish, windows and white ink should each have named vector layers. Include a visual mock-up, but treat the production file and signed proof as the controlling documents.
